The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce website was a very exciting project for everyone at Engines of Creation.com. From the start EOC and the Chamber wanted to leverage the best technology and programming options available to better server the ever growing Montgomery County Chamber member community, while not alienating prospective members or site visitors in the process. With this goal firmly in mind we designed and developed an elegant and easy to navigate website that is marketable, user friendly and loaded with popular features that are sure to enhance the Montgomery County Chambers already high standing in the community.
One of the most important features on the Montgomery County Chambers new website is its clean and organized member business directory. The member directory is the backbone of the new website and we wanted this to provide the most important information at first glance without forcing the user to jump through digital hoops for any information. To this end we created a business directory search system that enables users to search for a chamber member by business name, category or by the first letter of the companies name. These streamlined search options allow the user to hunt for a particular members data and return a quick set of results that include that particular member(s) basic contact information. Once the user finds the particular user he or she wishes to view, the user can then drill down into the members directory profile for even more information such as that particular members business biography, images of the company, print member coupons, special offers and view a custom Google Map application that shows the precise location of that particular member in the community. All of this member data is powered by a custom Content Management System developed for the Montgomery County Chamber to make the managing of the online member directory a breeze.
Another major facet of the new website was keeping Chamber members and non-members informed of Chamber news and events. We wanted the Chamber to be able to really reach out to their members and users without dragging them down by attempting to manage tons of different applications and services. Using our Engines of Creation Email Engine the Montgomery County Chamber can easily create and manage professional email marketing tools to keep the community and members informed of Chamber happenings. This powerful tool is flanked by a robust online calendar system that allows site visitors to suggest an event, sign up for event notifications, export the calendar to Microsoft’s Excel and import/export the calendar to Apple iCal, Mozilla Sunbird and other programs that support the iCalendar standard. Another fantastic tool employed by the
new website is a custom WordPress blog complete with RSS feeds and user polls to engage users and keep them informed at the same time.
To better market Montgomery County Chamber members we integrated a robust ad management system to promote members businesses and promote the Chambers ROI at the same time, all managed by a simple online application. The Chamber online store, which is slated for launch soon will enable users to purchase Chamber merchandise, event tickets and more, all from the new website!
We are very proud of the new Montgomery County Chamber website and feel that it truly places the Montgomery County Chamber and their members in position to not only be found in the community, but promote themselves in a positive and engaging manner without compromise.
